Stretch Mark Removal and Treatment in Leicester
Stretch marks (striae) are one of the most common body concerns we see. They might be red or purple stretch marks that appeared during pregnancy or a growth spurt, white or silver stretch marks that have been there for years, or lines on the shoulders and arms after building muscle. Creams and oils can help the skin feel softer, but they do not reach the layer where stretch marks form.
At ND Skin Aesthetics in Wigston, stretch marks treatment in Leicester starts with a consultation where we look at the age, colour, depth and size of your stretch marks and your skin type. Then we build a plan from the collagen treatments we have under one roof: Morpheus8 RF microneedling for deeper and older marks and loose skin, iPixel fractional laser to resurface texture, Dermapen 4 microneedling for smaller areas and every skin tone, and microneedling with Ameela exosomes to support repair.
Looking for stretch mark removal near me? We are on Bell Street in Wigston, about 10 minutes from Oadby, Knighton and Leicester city centre. We treat women and men, and skin of every colour, including brown and Black skin.
We will always be honest: stretch marks cannot be removed completely, and no treatment is an instant fix. What a course of the right treatment can do is make them softer, flatter, smoother and less noticeable, with results building over several months. Results vary from person to person.
Types of Stretch Marks: Red, White, Pregnancy and More
Stretch marks are not all the same. How old they are, their colour, where they are and your skin type all change which treatment works best and how many sessions you are likely to need. Many people have a mix.

New red or purple stretch marks
Striae rubrae. Pink, red or purple lines that may be slightly raised or itchy. They still have a blood supply and active healing, so they usually respond best and fastest to treatment. The earlier you start, the better.
Older white or silver stretch marks
Striae albae. Pale, flat or slightly sunken lines with a crinkled texture. The colour has faded, so the aim is to rebuild collagen and smooth the texture. They take longer, but they can be improved.
Pregnancy stretch marks
On the stomach, hips, thighs and breasts, often with some loose skin after pregnancy. Treatment starts once you have finished breastfeeding, and Morpheus8 can help with both the marks and skin laxity on the stomach.
Arms, back and chest
Common after growth spurts, weight changes and building muscle. Lines on the upper arms, shoulders, chest and back can be red at first and fade to white over time.
Stretch marks on brown and Black skin
On darker skin, stretch marks can look darker or lighter than the skin around them. Treatments and settings need choosing carefully to avoid pigmentation, so microneedling and Morpheus8 are often the first choice.
Stretch marks in men
Very common on the shoulders, arms, chest, sides and stomach, from muscle building, weight gain or loss and growth in the teenage years. We treat men with the same tailored plans.
Photos of the condition are illustrative examples, not ND Skin clients.
What Causes Stretch Marks?
Stretch marks form when the skin stretches faster than it can adapt. The collagen and elastic fibres in the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) tear, and the body repairs the gap with weaker tissue that shows as a line. At first the line is red or purple because of the blood vessels underneath; over months or years it fades to white or silver.
Pregnancy, growth spurts, quick weight gain or loss and fast muscle growth are the most common triggers. Genetics, hormones and some medicines, such as steroid creams and tablets, make some people more likely to get them. That is why the most effective plans for stretch mark removal work on the dermis, rebuilding collagen where the damage is, rather than just on the surface.
Watch: Stretch Marks in 30 seconds. What it is, common causes and how we can help.
Pregnancy
The most common cause in women.
Growth spurts
Common in teenagers.
Weight change
Gaining or losing weight quickly.
Muscle building
Fast growth of shoulders, arms and chest.
Genetics and hormones
Family history, and some medicines such as steroids.
Your Stretch Marks Assessment
Two people with “stretch marks on the stomach” can need completely different plans. At your consultation your therapist looks at:
- the colour and age of your stretch marks, red, purple or white
- how deep, wide and textured they are
- the size of the area, and whether there is loose skin, for example after pregnancy
- your skin type and colour, so the treatment and settings are safe for you
We take photos at the start so we can compare as you go through your course. If you also have concerns on your face, you can add an OBSERV 520x skin analysis, normally £70 and currently £35. The skin consultation is £35, redeemable against treatment of £100 or more.

Stretch Mark Treatments at ND Skin
We use treatments that work on collagen in the dermis, where stretch marks form, so your plan is matched to your marks and your skin, not to one machine. These are the treatments we choose from for stretch marks on the body. All of them are carried out by our qualified therapists, trained on each machine and fully insured.
Morpheus8 Body RF microneedling
Fine needles deliver radiofrequency energy deep into the skin to remodel collagen and tighten. It works deeper than standard microneedling, so it is our strongest option for older white stretch marks, deeper marks and stretch marks with loose skin, such as on the stomach after pregnancy. Suitable for all skin tones.
- Best for
- White and deeper stretch marks, loose skin on the stomach, thighs and arms
- Course
- Usually 3 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart
- Downtime
- Redness, swelling and small marks for a few days
- Price
- Stomach £500, or £1,200 for 3; other body areas priced at consultation
iPixel fractional laser resurfacing
A fractional Er:YAG laser on our Alma Harmony XL PRO that treats tiny columns of skin to resurface the texture of stretch marks and trigger new collagen. A good option for red and white marks on lighter skin. Settings are chosen for your skin type after a patch test.

- Course
- Usually 3 or more sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart
- Downtime
- Redness and fine flaking for about 3 to 5 days
- Price

Dermapen 4 microneedling
Fine needles create tiny channels that trigger the skin to repair and build new collagen, softening and smoothing stretch marks over a course. Your therapist matches a Dermapen serum to your skin, included in the price. Low risk of pigmentation, so it suits every skin tone. We are an authorised Dermapen provider.
- Best for
- New red marks, smaller areas, and brown and Black skin
- Course
- Usually 3 to 6 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart
- Downtime
- Pink skin for 1 to 2 days

Microneedling with Ameela exosomes

- Every stretch mark plan, before, during and after treatment

Honest advice: no treatment removes stretch marks completely. New red marks usually improve the most. Older white marks take longer and need a deeper treatment such as Morpheus8. Most people need a course of 3 or more sessions, and results keep building for months after the last one. If treatment is unlikely to help your marks, we will tell you.
No treatment is an instant fix; results build over a course and vary from person to person.

Stretch Mark Treatment: Results and What to Expect
Stretch marks improve gradually as new collagen forms in the skin. After the first session you may notice the skin feels smoother, but the real change builds over a course. Most people see marks become softer, flatter and closer to their skin colour within 3 to 6 months of starting, and collagen keeps building for up to 6 months after the last session. Red marks usually fade more than white ones. Stretch marks do not disappear completely, and results vary from person to person.
Week 0
Consultation, photos and patch test where needed.
Weeks 1 to 12
A course of 3 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Months 3 to 6
Collagen builds and marks soften and flatten.
Review
Compare photos and decide on any top-up.
Results vary from person to person, depending on your skin, the concern being treated and your aftercare. Your therapist will explain what you can realistically expect at your consultation.
When to Speak to Your GP First
Most stretch marks are harmless. Please speak to your GP before treatment if:
- you get lots of new, wide or purple stretch marks without an obvious reason
- they come with weight gain around the middle, a rounder face, muscle weakness or easy bruising
- they started after taking steroid tablets or using steroid creams
Treatment is not suitable during pregnancy and usually waits until you have finished breastfeeding.
Your Stretch Marks Consultation
Every stretch mark plan starts with a consultation with one of our qualified therapists. We look at your stretch marks and skin type, ask about your medical history, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and explain honestly which treatments may help, how many sessions you are likely to need and what it will cost.
The skin consultation is £35, redeemable against any treatment of £100 or more, and includes a patch test where needed. Appointments only. For a detailed map of your skin, add an OBSERV 520x skin analysis.
Your Stretch Marks Journey at ND Skin
Smoother, less noticeable stretch marks come over a journey of treatments, not one visit. This is what it usually looks like:
- Consultation: we assess your stretch marks, take photos and agree a plan and price.
- Patch test: for laser, so the settings are right for your skin.
- Course of treatment: usually 3 sessions of Morpheus8, iPixel or microneedling, 4 to 6 weeks apart.
- Aftercare: body care and SPF at home between sessions.
- Review: photos at around 3 months, and a top-up if it would help.

“…The healing properties in the ameela exosomes PDRN has really helped with my recovery time post microneedling. My skin looks so radiant and glowy, I’m really impressed and will absolutely be requesting this treatment again when I have micro-needling in the next 3-4 months… I’ve been trusting Naz for a while now with hydra-facials and micro-needling and I couldn’t imagine going elsewhere.”

Stretch Marks FAQs
Can stretch marks be removed completely?
No treatment can remove stretch marks completely. A course of Morpheus8, iPixel laser or microneedling can make them softer, flatter, smoother and less noticeable. Results vary from person to person.
What is the best treatment for stretch marks?
It depends on your marks and your skin. For older white or deeper marks, and stretch marks with loose skin, Morpheus8 RF microneedling is usually our first choice. For new red marks, Dermapen 4 microneedling or iPixel laser work well. For brown and Black skin, microneedling and Morpheus8 carry a lower risk of pigmentation. We recommend a plan at your consultation.
Do white or old stretch marks respond to treatment?
Yes, but they take longer than new red marks. Older white marks need treatment that works deep in the skin to rebuild collagen, such as Morpheus8, and most people need a course of 3 or more sessions.
How much does stretch mark removal cost in Leicester?
At ND Skin in Wigston, Morpheus8 for stretch marks on the stomach is £500 a session, or £1,200 for a course of 3. Other body areas, iPixel laser and microneedling for stretch marks are priced at your consultation, depending on the size of the area. The consultation is £35, redeemable against treatment of £100 or more.
Does Morpheus8 work on stretch marks?
Yes. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy deep in the skin, which remodels collagen and tightens. It is one of the most effective options for older and deeper stretch marks, especially on the stomach after pregnancy.
Does laser work on stretch marks?
Fractional laser such as iPixel can improve the texture and colour of stretch marks by resurfacing tiny columns of skin and triggering new collagen. Most people need a course of 3 or more sessions. Settings are chosen for your skin type after a patch test.
Does microneedling help stretch marks?
Yes. Dermapen 4 microneedling triggers new collagen in the skin, which softens and smooths stretch marks over a course. It suits every skin tone and works well on newer marks and smaller areas.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need a course of 3 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. Older white marks or large areas may need more. We will give you an honest estimate at your consultation.
When will I see results?
Results build gradually as collagen forms. Most people notice smoother skin within a few weeks and a clear change 3 to 6 months after starting, with improvement continuing for months after the last session.
Can I have treatment for pregnancy stretch marks?
Yes, once you have had your baby and finished breastfeeding. Morpheus8 on the stomach can help with both stretch marks and loose skin after pregnancy. Treatment is not suitable while pregnant.
Can I have stretch mark treatment while breastfeeding?
We usually wait until you have finished breastfeeding before starting treatment. We will talk this through with you at your consultation.
Can you treat stretch marks on brown and Black skin?
Yes. We choose treatments and settings carefully for darker skin to avoid pigmentation, usually Dermapen 4 microneedling, exosome microneedling or Morpheus8, and we patch test before laser where needed.
Do you treat stretch marks in men?
Yes. Men often get stretch marks on the shoulders, arms, chest and stomach from muscle building or weight change. We treat men with the same tailored plans.
Which areas can you treat?
We treat stretch marks on the stomach, hips, thighs, bottom, breasts, arms, shoulders, chest and back. The area and its size are confirmed at your consultation.
Do stretch mark creams work?
Creams and oils can keep the skin hydrated and may help new marks look a little better, but they do not reach the layer of skin where stretch marks form. Clinic treatments that rebuild collagen work better for established marks.
Does stretch mark treatment hurt?
Most people find it manageable. Microneedling feels like a light scratching, Morpheus8 feels like warm pricking and laser feels like a warm snapping. Your therapist will talk you through what to expect and how we keep you comfortable.
Is there downtime?
Microneedling leaves the skin pink for 1 to 2 days. iPixel laser can cause redness and fine flaking for 3 to 5 days. Morpheus8 can leave redness, swelling and small marks for a few days. Most people carry on as normal, wearing loose clothing over the area.
Who carries out the treatments?
All stretch mark treatments are carried out by our qualified therapists, trained on each machine and fully insured.
Is there a stretch mark removal clinic near me?
